Reggiana basketball, suitors on the horizon for Polish phenom
Pretenders on the horizon for Mateusz Ponitka
Pallacanestro Reggiana is preparing for suitors to come forward for Polish player Mateusz Ponitka.
The former Zenit St. Petersburg and Lokomotiv Kuban wing among others is enchanting at Eurobasket, where he and his Poland will play for access to the final on Friday afternoon, Sept. 16, against France.
The 1993 class, in fact, signed a three-month contract with an option to renew until the end of the 2022/23 season with the red-and-white club, but given the performance put on the court by the Pole at the European Championship, especially in the quarterfinal against Luka Doncic’s Slovenia, in which he recorded a triple-double, the Emilian club fears that some top team, perhaps participating in the Euroleague, may step forward to take over Ponitka’s contract at the end of the three months.
