Carmelo Ezpeleta, clear words on Valentino Rossi
“Valentino Rossi’s period was extraordinary, partly because he was fighting with champions like Stoner, Pedrosa and Lorenzo.”
MotoGp boss Carmelo Ezpeleta in an interview with el Pais took stock of the first season without what for more than two decades has been the image man of MotoGP, Valentino Rossi: “Valentino’s period was extraordinary, not least because he was fighting with other champions like Stoner, Pedrosa and Lorenzo.”
“Then Marc Marquez came along, and now people seem to forget that Quartararo, young as he is, is already a Knight of the Legion of Honor in a country like France.” Ezpeleta’s message is that champions come and go, but MotoGp remains, “What we like to see now is balance on the track. Last Sunday at Aragon there were 10 riders within three tenths of each other-that’s how racing should be.”
