Max Biaggi bets big on Ayumu Sasaki
At the end of qualifying in Montegi Max Biaggi has drawn the conclusion. Ayumu Sasaki will start from the fourth position on the grid. A little further back in 12th position is John McPhee: “The rain did not catch us unprepared, as we will start from a good position tomorrow, especially with Ayumu.”
“Our two riders did not make any mistakes in either of the two sessions held today in Motegi and so they both managed, lap by lap, to become familiar with the difficult track conditions. Tomorrow the weather forecast does not announce rain. With only one session under his belt in the dry, it will be crucial to pay attention to the setup in order to be competitive in the race as well. Ayumu has proven to be very competitive in the dry, so tomorrow he should aim to do well in his home race,” he said.
Sasaki will certainly have some extra motivation: “Today was a good day and I am happy to have finished qualifying in fourth position. I improved in the wet, which is very important, but tomorrow looks like the race will be on a dry track. We have a very good pace in the dry. Tomorrow we need a quiet start and then I will try to read the race and fight for the win in my home race.”
