Team Gresini and Enea Bastianini disagree on the fall
Bastinani forced to stop in Q1
It is a Saturday marked by rain that experienced by the MotoGp riders in Motegi, in the Japanese Grand Prix. Bad weather conditions have, in fact, cancelled FP3 and delayed Q1 by more than an hour.
Enea Bastianini, on the wet track, repeated the same mistake he made on Friday, during free practice: two minutes from the end of Q1, the Ducati rider ran into a fall at Turn 5, losing his hopes of entering Q2. He thus finished with a time of 1’56″130 and will start from 15th position.
The fresh winner of the Aragon GP expressed himself this way after the disappointing qualifying: “I was confident for the afternoon because even in the wet this morning we were fast. The crash ruined our plans, I would definitely have tried a last lap sprint. In Turn 5 I did nothing abnormal, even the data confirmed it for us – he says, not confirming the hypothesis of his mistake -. I think we can still do well tomorrow, I will try to hook up with the best and climb up quickly.”
