Weavers chose from the heart

The presentation of Reyer Venezia’s two new signings, Azzurri Marco Spissu and Amedeo Tessitori, was held this morning at Taliercio.

The former Virtus Bologna center said, “I am very happy and excited to be part of this group of guys, of which I already know some like Spissu, Chillo or Moraschini, hoping to be able to give my contribution to the team and the club by making myself available. In these days I have had the opportunity to see how the work is carried out: I think it is a very serious company, very well organized, in which I can develop my work very well and find continuity in the path I am pursuing.”

Then, Amedeo explained his choice to come and play in Venice: “I came here to win something and especially I think that with the help of De Raffaele, whose presence was absolutely one of the reasons for my choice, I can improve and win other things. What pushed me to leave Bologna to come here was mainly the path of growth that I am going through. Talking with the coach, he made a really good impression on me, and I wanted to prove my playing ability even more. I therefore challenged myself again, making a heartfelt choice.”

Finally, a thought on the EuroCup and competition with teammates: “To win the EuroCup takes a lot of luck, because the formula is not the easiest. However, it also takes a lot of teamwork, sacrifice, knowing what we have to do.
I would not talk about competition, with Watt and Sima, but rather about unity. All three of us can make a big contribution to the team. And for sure in every game there will be a technical choice that will be the best to counter the opponent’s long shots.

Against Watt I have played several times: he is an incredible player and I hope to learn something from him as well. Sima is a very young guy with a lot of drive. So I am happy to be in this group and I am convinced that if all three of us stay together we will give a lot of trouble to any long pack of other teams.”
