Dolomiti Energia Trento’s new acquisition Drew Crawford spoke to the official channels of the bianconero club ahead of the start of the championship, which will see Lele Molin’s men make their debut against Tortona.

“Trento was the perfect choice: I’m very happy to be back in Italy, a beautiful country to live in and a championship of great prestige; and at the same time to be part of a European-level organization, of a club that has clear ideas and all the prerequisites to continue to be a reference. My role? Coach Molin convinced me to marry this project also because of the philosophy of play and the values he conveyed to me in our conversations before signing with Dolomiti Energia: from me the coach wants not only points and offense, but many little big things that can help the team win, for example with defense and rebounds. I arrived a little later than my teammates but I was welcomed in the best way, the group is composed of selfless players who always put the team first: I feel confidence and I think the group’s growth process is going well. I didn’t know the new teammates personally but the basketball world is quite small, everyone knows everyone, so now it’s more about strengthening the chemistry between us and producing winning basketball on both sides of the court. The EuroCup is a big, fascinating challenge for everyone: 18 regular season games alone, lots of travel, very strong teams. It won’t give us a way to beat ourselves up for a loss or gas ourselves up for a win, we will have to be good at staying constantly focused and ready to reset,” said the former Cremona and Brescia player among others.
