Bruno Bolchi died, a gentleman who will remain in soccer history

Bruno Bolchi died

The soccer world is mourning the passing of Bruno Bolchi. Growing up in the youth ranks of Inter, playing as a midfielder, Bolchi died at the age of 82.

In his playing career he wore the jerseys of Inter, Verona, Atalanta, Torino and Pro Patria, playing in the A, B and C leagues. With the colors of the Beneamata he won a scudetto, in 1962-63, getting to wear the captain’s armband of the meneghina team when he was only 21 years old. In his palmares also a Coppa Italia, won in the 1967-68 season with Torino.

After retiring in 1971, he began his coaching career on the bench of Pro Patria, ending it in 2007 on the bench of Messina. As a coach he won two Serie C championships, in 1976-77 with Pistoiese and in 1983-84, on the bench of Bari.

In 1961 Bolchi, always nicknamed ‘Maciste,’ was the first soccer player to appear on ‘Panini’ stickers.
