F1, Fernando Alonso wants to leave behind Monza
The Alpine driver wants to leave Monza behind.
Alpine driver Fernando Alonso spoke just days before the Singapore Grand Prix, the sixth-to-last round of the Formula 1 championship.
The Alpine driver, who will race with Aston Martin from next season, failed to score his 11th consecutive useful result in Monza.
“It’s been an intense few weeks in Europe and we’re glad to have done some resetting before the last races of the season. We came out of the triple round with 18 points, gained at Spa and Zandvoort. We had two very important races and the car performed well,” said the Spanish driver, in the words reported by ‘FormulaPassion’.
“Unfortunately, we had to retire the car in Italy, where we hoped to get our 11th consecutive points finish. In Monza the car was not going as well as in the previous two weekends, so we tried to figure out why. We hope to return to our usual level of competitiveness in Singapore. The whole team has been working hard on a new package of updates for this race, so I’m looking forward to seeing what it will produce,” Alonso continued, focusing on the difficulties he went through in Monza and the countermeasures taken ahead of the Singapore GP.
