National team, Daniele De Rossi is adamant on the youth issue
Daniele De Rossi talks about the national team
The former Giallorossi midfielder spoke at the Social Football Summit in Rome about the state of the national team and his experience of the European Championship.
De Rossi spoke about the situation of the youth of the national team: “There is probably a technical impoverishment that weighs on the selection of players. There is less living on the street, in the parks, on the beach. There is less raw material, but it is there. Now we have found 4-5 players that I in the lower undergraduates did not know. If you have the courage to choose them, alternatives can be found.”
The former Roma man also spoke about the European: “The European was a strong experience also because of the Covid, but if they had asked us we would have all stayed another 10 days longer.”
He also commented on the national team group and in particular Raspadori: “Raspadori is a golden boy, a young gentleman. It makes you happy to see these guys go down the same path that I did in the past. Maybe it was harder to emerge before, but Mancini has tried many of them and many of them placed in the context have proven themselves.”
