Serie A, Rocchi outspoken on Juventus-Salernitana case
“Episode that will not happen again,” said the former referee.
Gianluca Rocchi, referee designator since July 2021 for the Serie A and Serie B championships, has returned to talk about one of the most talked about episodes of this early season: that of the match between Juventus and Salernitana.
The former referee, as reported by ‘ANSA,’ stated the following: “The Juve-Salernitana case? We were accused of not using a certain camera, which we did not have, however. I could not crucify VAR and AVAR for not seeing episode they did not have the camera for. If we had had it, the result probably would have been different.”
Rocchi added, “It is an episode that will not happen again. In the communiqué we issued after the match, which was misrepresented, we did not talk about the goodness of the decision (to cancel Milik’s goal, ed.). In the future there will be tools that can help us.”
