Supercup, Piero Bucchi doesn’t hide satisfaction
Sardinians won in a sprint 84-83 in a tight match against Tortona
At the end of a thrilling match, which was worth the access to the final of the Italian basketball Supercup, Dinamo Sassari by tooth and nail landed to the last act by beating Bertram Tortona, which also led the match in large parts of it. Now the Sardinians will face the winner of Olimpia-Virtus Bologna.
The decisive plays came in the last minute: first a triple by Bendzius, then Onuaku’s decisive stop on Christon, gave the victory to Piero Bucchi’s quintet, who commented on the match in the usual post-game press conference.
“It’s still September, it’s summer basketball with competition at stake, but it’s always good for us to start with a victory against a very accredited team,” the coach of the island roster began. “An important victory at a stage of the season when we are still lamenting so many absentees. This gives us the opportunity to work with more serenity. We are in the finals, we are with Robinson and Jones in their first game. The former did very well as he did a year ago, Bendzius put in the final shot, but the whole team competed with great will,” Bucchi concluded.
