Lorenzo Sonego is out

After a stunning success in Metz and a first-round victory at the ATP 250 in Sofia, Lorenzo Sonego breaks his winning streak at six, having to bow out to Denmark’s Holger Rune.

The Piedmontese tennis player plays a great first set, culminating in a spectacular tie-break, dominated by 7 points to 1. Beginning in the second set, however, Rune becomes unplayable on serve, losing only six points between the second and third set. The Italian, on the contrary becomes a bit more fragile at the serve and thus has to surrender 6-7 6-4 6-3 in favor of Denmark’s number one.

Lorenzo must thus bid farewell to the Sofia tournament, while Rune will face Belarusian Ilya Ivashka in the quarterfinals.
