The Singapore Grand Prix weekend opened in the sign of Lewis Hamilton.

The British driver set the fastest time in the first free practice, ahead of longtime rival Max Verstappen, who was less than a tenth off.

Third was Charles Leclerc, who had to deal with a brake problem.
