Bad day for Fabio Fognini: injury and defeat against Dimitrov
Dimitrov won in two sets, with a score of 6-0, 7-5
Fabio Fognini’s run at the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000 ends in the second round.
The Italian tennis player, who also experienced some shoulder discomfort, was defeated in two sets by Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, with a score of 6-0, 7-5.
The first set was without history, with the Bulgarian holder breaking the 35-year-old Ligurian three times out of three on serve, quickly closing on 6-0.
It was a whole different story in the second set, where Fognini’s reaction was recorded, forcing his opponent to exhaust all his energy. The Italian cancelled two match-points at 5-4 for Dimitrov, who, however, then closed 7-5.
