Bobo Gori tough on Cagliari’s momentum

Reached by Cagliarinews24.com, Bobo Gori commented in no uncertain terms on the Sardinians’ situation: “It amazes me that it has suffered in the last three years going down to Serie B and that this year it has not faced a championship in the top positions. It is a club that on paper is destined to return to A, the fact that it is not among the very top of the league table makes me think that the perception of confusion that I have noticed in recent years still persists.”

Some fans in recent weeks have pointed the finger at Liverani’s strikers: “The names are there: both Lapadula and Pavoletti are players who have played in Serie A. They have been quite famous names. I don’t think Cagliari’s problem is in the names and value of the attacking players, it is the mental aspect of the team that has some problems. Lapadula and Pavoletti are players with different characteristics from each other who, however, could very well integrate and thus be a top-notch attack for Serie B but it struggles. It struggles as a whole and that makes me think a lot.”

“This Cagliari is not a league-killer. This puzzles me a bit: a team that goes down to Serie B should face the next championship with added value against other teams. Of course, you need category players, and this involves having a valuable technical project, but it has been three to four years that Cagliari has been suffering both in A and in this first part of B with projects that have not always proved their worth. These are the perplexities that I have right now.”

“Serie B is a league where a generalized technical project in all roles is more important than a single name that can solve all the problems of a team. Cagliari’s attack is perhaps the best there can be in Serie B. Pavoletti is good in the aerial game while Lapadula is a player who has always scored goals so he can definitely be important. The attack as names and figures is definitely first-rate, but the results do not support these expectations,” concluded Gori, who wore the Cagliari shirt from 1969 to 1975, also winning a Scudetto.
