F1, Mika Hakkinen amazed by Max Verstappen
Former world champion Mika Hakkinen: “We’ve never seen him at this level.”
Former Formula 1 world champion Mika Hakkinen praised Red Bull driver Max Verstappen for his 14 seasonal victories, an all-time record for the premier class of motorsport. “We’ve never seen anything like this, it’s a fantastic achievement for Max and his team,” he told Unibet. “They can take it a step further in Brazil and Abu Dhabi. If you look at the result of Sergio Perez, who finished third, you can see how tight the margins are. But Max is really on another level.”
According to the former Finnish driver, Red Bull will also dominate the end of the season: “It’s a team completely in confidence, in themselves, in the drivers, in their car and in their race strategy.”
It was Sebastian Vettel who was the first driver to win a world championship with Red Bull. The German put everyone in line for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. The Austrian stable returned to success in 2021 thanks to Dutchman Max Verstappen, with the son of art repeating the following year. If there was a battle to the last in 2021, that was not the case in 2022.
