“It wasn’t his best game, but I grew a lot in confidence.”

Swiss tennis player Marc-Andrea Huesler surprised everyone with his victory over Jannik Sinner in the first round of the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000. The Swiss dismissed the top-ranked Italian tennis player with a 6-2, 6-3 victory that surprised many, even himself.

“Honestly it was not Sinner’s best match, I had to be ready to take advantage of this opportunity. I stayed focused all the time and I’m happy with the win. I think the last match I played last week against Felix Auger Aliassime in Basel with a sold-out crowd counted a lot and gave me confidence,” said Huesler, later defeated in the next round by Khachanov.
