Inter, glimmer of optimism for Romelu Lukaku
On Lukaku’s condition, Belgium’s doctor spoke.
Slight optimism filters around the condition of Romelu Lukaku, who was injured again in the league match against Sampdoria.
On the return of the Inter number 90, Belgian Football Federation doctor Kristof Sas spoke to the official channels of the Roberto Martinez-coached national team: “It’s a relapse, it’s not something too heavy, but obviously it’s a setback for a problem he already had. At the moment we don’t know how long he will have to be out.”
The Nerazzurri and Simone Inzaghi are hoping to get Lukaku back, at least for a match segment, before the World Cup break, but the feeling is that Big Rom will try to preserve himself in order to be at his best for the start of the World Cup, where Belgium will try to have their say.
The Nerazzurri club has boasted the title of champion of Italy nineteen times, the last being in 2021 when Antonio Conte was at the helm. The first Scudetto came in 1910, the first Champions Cup in 1964, duplicated immediately the following year. With Jose Mourinho on the bench, in 2010, the ‘Beneamata’ raised the cup with the big ears for the third time by knocking out Bayern Munich in the final.
