The words of Vincenzo Nibali

Vincenzo Nibali returned to talk to Marca, now as a former rider: “At the moment I don’t feel like an outsider. But the other day, when I was in Milan at the Giro presentation, I felt like I was still a cyclist. It was inevitable for me to face it that way, even though I won’t be living it on top of my bike in 2023. I noticed that the second week is hard, and the third week is terrible with the time trial. I would have liked to run it, but that’s the way it is now.”

The Shark talked about Italian cycling: “Looking at it from here, it’s clear that now we don’t have any profile similar to mine. But we have many great riders who can win in many situations. It is not a worrying situation, I think. I would like to see the evolution of men like Andrea Bagioli or Antonio Tiberi. And then there is Ciccone, who is a great rider. He lacks some regularity, but he will be there.”
