Atalanta, Luis Muriel injury: outcome of exams
Bad news at home Atalanta: problems for Muriel
During the afternoon session on Wednesday, November 2, Luis Muriel suffered an adductor problem that forced him to stop early.
So the Colombian striker on Thursday, November 3, underwent instrumental examinations to assess the extent of the injury. The statement released by the orobico club on its official website reads, “In the pits Muriel: the instrumental examinations to which the Colombian striker underwent showed a partial lesion of the proximal insertion of the common tendon of the adductors on the right. Recovery time is not quantifiable at the moment and depends on the clinical progression of the player.”
Recovery time still to be determined: it is almost impossible for him to recover for Saturday’s Nov. 5 match against Napoli and, in the most pessimistic hypothesis, we could see him back on the field directly in 2023, after the break due to the World Cup in Qatar.
The Colombian had just returned from the disqualification he picked up against Lazio and is forced to sit in the pits for more time. Gasperini will have fewer options to choose a partner to flank Lookman; it is possible that Hojlund could start again from the beginning because of Zapata’s still not fully recovered physical condition, with the latter possibly entering the game in progress.
