MotoGp, Suzuki: wonderful initiative for the last round of the season
Wonderful Suzuki initiative
A very special initiative will give the Suzuki team an extra boost as they face their final race in Valencia this weekend.
Adorning the pit walls are hundreds of messages ranging from a simple “thank you” to poetic descriptions of the important role the team has played in the lives of those who wrote them. These “love letters” were sent by Suzuki supporters around the world and are just a snapshot of the thousands of messages that were sent as a result of the appeal launched on Team Suzuki Ecstar’s social media channels.
At first glance, the walls have a graffiti effect, but the reader is immediately drawn in by the variety and sincerity of the words written. Among the most loyal fans are some familiar names; the box stars themselves, Alex Rins and Joan Mir, wrote in turn, “A family” and “World champions in all aspects: motorcycle, human and technical. You have given me everything to make my dream come true.”
Dorna, promoter of the MotoGP series, left a heartfelt note that read, “Your story inspires so many different people in so many different ways! You have made our sport a better place.” While main sponsor Monster Energy declared, “CHAMPIONS.
These beautiful love letters lifted the team’s spirits as soon as they were pulled out Wednesday morning and will remain displayed in the pit box, next to the riders, from Friday until the final flag on Sunday.
Alex Rins commented on the initiative this way, “Goosebumps! It’s hard to find another way to describe the feeling of reading all these messages. We feel very emotional, but also very supported. I had to add my own message, which was ‘A family,’ because everyone on this team has been like a family member to me and I am so grateful for the time we have spent together.”
Of the same opinion is teammate Joan Mir: “We always thought we had great fans, they are another level of support and they are really special. This nice initiative by the team shows how kind and loyal our supporters are, and their cheering has been a very nice part of being a Suzuki rider. These messages will give me extra motivation during this last race weekend.”
