Gasperini disappointed after Atalanta’s defeat against Napoli

He did not hide his disappointment, Gian Piero Gasperini, after his Atalanta’s defeat against Napoli. In addition to deeming the Orobici’s defeat “undeserved,” the coach also pointed his finger at referee Mariani, who he said was guilty of mishandling the end of the game.

Responding to a question about the length of the recovery, which had made some Atalanta players nervous at the final whistle, Gasperini in fact commented to the microphones of ‘Dazn’: “In the last minutes the referee lost the tiller of the match a bit, which up to that moment had been very competitive but also very fair. It is a situation that can be recriminated about.”

Many, however, were the missed chances: “Tonight I leave with the certainty that we will have a good championship,” said the coach of the Orobici. “The team is growing, both at the physical and technical level. We were equal to and in many cases better than Napoli. There was also a bit of bad luck in some cases, we did not deserve to lose: however, we must be confident for the future.”
