Milan beats Spezia, Giroud decides but pays dearly for his joy
Milan-Spezia 2-1
Milan beats Spezia 2-1 in the last match of Saturday’s Serie A: a success worth gold for the Rossoneri, who thanks to the three points won almost in extremis return to second place in the standings after 13 matches, bypassing Atalanta and remaining at -6 from Napoli.
Stefano Pioli’s team took advantage of a storming start (Leao’s crossbar complicit in a deflection by the defense) going ahead in the 21st minute: signing the goal of the lead is Theo Hernandez, good at taking advantage of Bennacer’s assist. Spezia, however, is far from submissive and gains the field minute after minute, taking advantage of a few too many uncertainties on the part of the Rossoneri: to materialize a more than positive phase of the match for Luca Gotti’s men is Daniel Maldini, a striker owned by Milan as well as Paolo’s son and Cesare’s nephew, whose beautiful conclusion leaves no way out for Tatarusanu.
After the equalizer, Milan returned to attack: Tonali signed a great goal from distance in the 65th minute, which, however, referee Fabbri cancelled due to a foul committed by the Rossoneri during the action. Olivier Giroud (who came on in the 72nd minute in place of a dull Origi) solved the match, and in the 89th minute he acrobatically overcame Dragowski and gave Milan the success, committing, however, the naivety of taking off his shirt and getting cautioned for a second time: the red, however, was ininfulent for the final result, Milan taking home a very important success.
