Valentino Rossi tense: “Difficult situation for Bagnaia.”
Valentino Rossi worries about Pecco Bagnaia: “Difficult situation.”
At the microphones of Sky Sport Valentino Rossi dwelt on Pecco Bagnaia. The Ducatista in Valencia will have to be within fourteenth place to triumph: “The last one is always tough, despite the 23-point advantage anxiety affects a lot. I talked with him, tried to understand how he is psychologically. But with me he is always calm, he even tells me he sleeps. I didn’t sleep before the world nights.”
The Doctor then went into specifics: “He is definitely not the Bagnaia of all time, the top one, but fortunately he is not the one we need tomorrow. Even an eighth-place Pecco is fine, but I see him in a difficult situation even if it’s a bit normal for him to be like that. These are unforgettable moments in the career, to be there is incredible and it will be fun for Pecco. He never gave up, the -91 was not real and he was super competitive. He always believed in it and that is his great merit. Historic recovery, but in the end what remains is what wins.”
“I would rather be in Pecco’s position and not Quartararo’s because he can only win and he can do it,” Rossi continued, “but Bagnaia has to be ready to finish at least 14th. You still have to go to the maximum because if not then you make mistakes, it’s certainly not easy.”
For VR46 this is certainly a season to remember: “Marini is very fast but he starts 11th and it’s hard. If he makes a good start he can finish in the top five and then we have to see where Quartararo will be. We are happy with how the team did this first year. Luca and Bezzecchi have had great races, as a team we have always been competitive and with the academy we are doing well. Tomorrow is an important day for us because for the first time as VR46 Academy we can win the World Championship in MotoGP after having already succeeded in Moto2 and Moto3 and having been vice-champions with Morbidelli in 2020 and Bagnaia in 2021,” Valentino Rossi commented.
