VR46: last race to forget for Celestino Vietti
Mooney Racing Team centaur was forced to retire
A tough end to the season for the Mooney VR46 Racing Team Moto2 team with the double retirement of Celestino Vietti Ramus and Niccolò Antonelli. Starting from the third row, Celestino confirmed his position immediately after the start. In an attempt then to move up the rankings, he is the victim of a crash on lap 6 when he was in P7. Returning to the track, he is forced to retire due to damage to his Kalex. With today’s result, he finishes seventh overall with 165 total points.
“This was not the ending I imagined for the last race of the season – are the words of Vietti -. Yesterday we did a good job and today’s goal was to recover. I’m really sorry, especially for the team, which I thank, because the guys on the team did a great job during the year and never gave up. We struggled in the last few races, we were fast on several occasions but the crashes were decisive. A great pity.”
