Historic convocation for Monza

Historic summons for Monza. Matteo Pessina, biancorosso captain, is the first player in the club’s history summoned by the Italian senior national team. Among the 31 summoned by coach Mancini for the double friendly matches with Albania and Austria (Nov. 16 and 20), Pessina could soon also become the first player in Monza’s history to wear the Azzurri jersey.

“Congratulations Matteo and congratulations Monza!” reads the note issued by the Brianza club.

Against Juventus, Monza won its first match in Serie A on September 18. The red and white team, which in the previous week had been entrusted to Raffaele Palladino, won 1-0 against the Bianconeri thanks to a goal scored by Christian Gytkjaer. On Thursday, however, came the defeat in Rome to Lazio.
