Ross Brawn has no doubts about the Sprint Race
Ross Brawn has spoken out on the issue of the Sprint Race, which is causing so much discussion and division among Formula 1’s millions of fans.
In particular, the circus general manager began, commenting on the Sprint Race just run at Interlagos: “The Brazilian one was the last Sprint Race of the season. We thought this was one of the tracks on which we could hold the Saturday race, and we were rewarded. It’s a hundred kilometers, with no mandatory tire change, so the choice of circuit on which to use this format is absolutely crucial. In Brazil we saw a fantastic show, so now it is time to make the next step.”
“I don’t think we will need to make a revolution, as the structure of the event is great, as much as we need to analyze the role played by the Saturday morning free practice session, which can seem a tad boring,” Brawn stressed. “However, we should never forget that the underlying optic is to make every single day of the event action-packed on the track. Friday and Saturday at Interlagos proved to be fantastic, now let’s hope for the Grand Prix, but in general for both the spectators at the racetrack and those watching the event in their homes, we couldn’t ask for more.”
In 2023 the Sprints will come to six: “It is likely that Brazil will be among them but we are working on finding the best tracks and we will continue along this line to ensure the best possible success of the product,” concluded the British manager, as reported by Formulapassion.co.uk.
