Turin Atp Finals: after Nadal’s knockout comes another surprise

Second big surprise at the ongoing Atp Finals in Turin: after Rafael Nadal’s defeat at the hands of Taylor Fritz on Sunday night, another of the tournament’s big names, former world number one Daniil Medvedev, also lost in his debut to compatriot Andrey Rublev.
The world number seven won in three sets with the scores of 6-7, 6-3, 7-6 in a match that lasted two and a half hours and ended in a tie-break 9-7. It was a totally evenly balanced match, with Rublev losing the first set after 7 set points were canceled.
In the evening the other highly anticipated Red Group match between former world number one Djokovic and Tsitsipas.
