Schuurs does not operate

Perr Schuurs, who injured his shoulder in the penultimate Serie A match against Sampdoria, will not have to undergo surgery. This is good news for Ivan Juric, who will be able to have his central defender available again when the league resumes.

The statement released by the Turin club reads, “Torino Football Club announces that the player Perr Schuurs, today, underwent a medical consultation with Professor Giovanni Di Giacomo, who specializes in shoulder surgery. In light of the instrumental picture, the clinical examination gave indication for conservative therapy that the defender will continue in the coming weeks. The picture will be re-evaluated at the end of the therapy, before resuming on the field with the team.”

Recovery time is expected to be about 45 days, as reported by Dazn. The Dutch player should then be able to return when Serie A starts again, which will see the Granata engaged against Verona on January 4. A big sigh of relief for Toro and its coach.
