Salvatore Sirigu doesn’t mince words about Cagliari
Sirigu doesn’t hide about Cagliari’s season
On the sidelines of an event organized by the USSI Sardegna in Pula, where he received an award named after the memory of Davide Astori, Salvatore Sirigu answered reporters’ questions, not hiding when asked for his opinion on Cagliari’s season in Serie B, and in particular on the current tenth place in the standings, well below the expectations of the Rossoblù fans.
“Unfortunately, in Serie B it is always complicated,” said Napoli’s reserve goalkeeper, who has never played in Cagliari (except as an opponent) but in the cadetteria yes, in Ancona, in 2008/09. It is an unpredictable league, perhaps more so than Serie A: more games are played and there is the playoff variable. It’s an open tournament, but a difficult one.”
Cagliari, in thirteen league matches, has collected 17 points: the last victory (2-1 against Brescia) dates back to Oct. 15, since then there has been one defeat (1-2 at Ascoli) and three draws (1-1 against Reggina, 2-2 at home to Sudtirol, 1-1 at home with Pisa), as well as the knockout in the Coppa Italia (1-0) on the field of Bologna.
