Ducati sport director Paolo Ciabatti in an interview with Gpone.com explained that Marc Marquez has never really been close to the Borgo Panigale stable in the past: “We have never seriously sought him. We simply sniffed each other and nothing more. We looked for Vinales, but he didn’t want to.”
On his most complicated negotiation: “I was sorry for the premature farewell of Crutchlow, and for the non-renewal of Iannone. To Andrea I arrived the proposal before the accident with Dovizioso in Argentina, but there was no agreement and then he decided to go to Suzuki.”
