Salernitana, Pasquale Mazzocchi forced to undergo surgery
Mazzocchi gets surgery
Updates on Pasquale Mazzocchi’s condition are anything but positive. The Salernitana fullback, after the injury sustained in training camp with the national team, had undergone instrumental examinations that showed a contusion-distortion injury of the right knee with medial collateral ligament involvement.
Now, however, as communicated by the Campania club itself, an operation has become necessary: “U.S. Salernitana 1919 announces that Pasquale Mazzocchi, following further diagnostic investigations and specialist orthopedic examination, will undergo surgery tomorrow for reconstruction of the medial collateral ligament of the right knee. Further updates will follow tomorrow at the end of the surgery.”
It will definitely increase the recovery time, which is expected to lengthen to a minimum of three months. Coach Nicola hopes to have his right outside player back after the March break, but at this point it is likely that the Salerno club will intervene in the January market to look for a replacement. Really bad news for the club and its fans who lose one of the best full-backs in Serie A after the first fifteen days.
