F1, Aston Martin: Flavio Briatore on Fernando Alonso’s transfer: ‘He’s a rottweiler’
Former Renault manager on Alonso’s transfer
The former team manager, Flavio Briatore, spoke about the transfer to Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso, in the last two seasons in Alpine and a two-time world champion with the French manufacturer itself, which until 2021 was called Renault, under the management of the very former Piedmontese manager.
“Fernando is a rottweiler. And a rottweiler goes to Aston Martin with no problem. He will have a great season, actually two great seasons. Formula 1 is fantastic, media-wise it’s very strong, and the public sells out every grand prix. It is super successful,” Briatore jokingly said.
Together the two won Formula 1 championships in 2005 and 2006, both in the drivers’ category, with the Asturian, and in the constructors’ category.
