The former coach freewheels about the club he coached for five seasons

Gian Piero Ventura, with the ‘Corriere di Torino,’ spoke among other things precisely about his connection with Torino Fc, which he coached from 2011 to 2016, guiding it to important results such as promotion to the A league in 2012 and qualification for the Europa League two years later.

“In recent years I suffered because I did not share everything that had been done,” said the former national team coach, referring to the years following his farewell to the Granata club. “Instead, I am much more confident now. In the future projection, according to my convictions, Toro has taken a different path and is laying the foundations to return to where it deserves, because it is right that the goal is Europe.”

Torino currently sits in ninth place in the league, -6 from the Europa zone. It arrived at the World Cup break with four points from two games, the result of a home win against Sampdoria and a draw at the Stadio Olimpico against Roma.
