Lewis Hamilton, a consolation prize from the FIA
Lewis Hamilton’s award
Lewis Hamilton in 2022 failed to win a single race but the Fia awarded him anyway.
The British driver triumphed in the Action of the Year’ category, thanks to what he did in the British Grand Prix, which is his home race.
Hamilton took advantage in the finale of the duel between Leclerc and Sainz, overtaking them both at the last corner. The race was won by Carlos Sainz.
Carlos Sainz Jr., was born in Madrid on September 1, 1994. He is the son of driver Carlos Sainz, a two-time world rally champion and three-time winner of the Dakar Rally. Despite his father’s successes on dirt roads, Carlos immediately opted for Formula 1, making his debut in 2015 driving a Toro Rosso. After two seasons with the current AlphaTauri, one in Renault and one in McLaren, Sainz officially became a Ferrari driver in 2021. Wearing the colors of the Maranello-based stable, the Spaniard took the first career pole position at Silverstone on July 2, 2022, and the next day he scored his first career victory in Formula 1 at the end of a race masterfully conducted in adverse weather conditions. With the success in Britain, Sainz became the second Spanish driver to win a GP in F1, after only Fernando Alonso.
