F1 Ferrari: comes the dry denial of Ross Brawn
Former technical director will not return to Ferrari: “It’s time to retire”
No return of Ross Brawn to Ferrari. Over the past few days, rumors of a divorce of the Cavallino with Mattia Binotto have multiplied: among the candidates for his succession, in addition to the highly quoted name of Frederic Vasseur, there has also been talk of a possible arrival of Brawn, a great protagonist of Michael Schumacher’s golden years at Maranello in the role of technical director.
The man himself, however, denied it through his column on the official Formula 1 website, where he announced his imminent farewell to the circus: “My time in F1 is coming to an end, I will miss the involvement I have had, as well as the friendships that have been created over the years. I’m satisfied with where we’ve come. I think there has been a real change in the last six years since I joined the management team, and I’m happy about that.”
“It’s the right time to retire after a 46-year career, now I’ll be watching F1 from my couch, cheering and swearing like an F1 fan, happy that the sport is in such a great place and has such a great future.”
