Messi allegedly kicked Mexico’s jersey in the locker room, triggering Mexican boxing champion’s anger

Lionel Messi has come under fire in Mexico after a video captured him celebrating in the locker room after Argentina’s victory against the Tricolor national team. The Pulce is filmed pushing away a Mexico jersey on the ground with his foot: the gesture infuriated none other than multi-time world champion boxer Canelo Alvarez, who took to social media to speak out.

“Has Messi been seen wiping the floor with our jersey and flag? Pray to God not to meet me! Just like I respect Argentina, you must respect Mexico!” the belligerent boxer wrote on Twitter. Also defending the Albiceleste star was former player Sergio Aguero, a close friend of the Psg striker: “The shirts are always on the floor when the game is over because of sweat and then if you look closely, he makes the movement to take it off and accidentally hits it.”
