Olimpia Milano, Ettore Messina is clear on attitude
Ettore Messina’s words on the eve of the Euroleague match
Olimpia Milano returns to the court for the tenth day of the Euroleague against Baskonia, scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 1 at 8:30 p.m. at the Fernando Buesa Arena. The Milanese club comes from six consecutive Euroleague losses and is the tail end with only three wins along with Alba Berlin, Bayern Munich and Lyon-Villeurbanne. The Basque club is coming off a loss, but is currently in eighth place, in the playoff zone.
The coach of the red-and-whites Ettore Messina spoke to official channels this way ahead of the challenge with the Spaniards: “Regardless of the injured players who will not be part of the away game, we from now on will have to interpret every EuroLeague game as if it were a final, to take advantage of every possible opportunity to make up ground. We know we are meeting a team that is very well organized by Coach Penarroya, playing at a high pace and with high shooting percentages, so it will obviously be a very difficult game. But what matters is that the attitude is that of a Game 5 of the playoffs.”
Nicolò Melli also made some statements, “We know that a difficult game awaits us against a team that is healthy and traditionally very strong on its own court. We are coming from a losing streak, but we are working hard to improve. In Vitoria, we will do everything to play a solid game and try to bring home a win that would put us back on the right track.”
