Lisa Vittozzi super: bronze medal in Kontiolahti

Lisa Vittozzi returns as a star. The Sappada biathlete won an excellent bronze medal in the first World Cup race in Kontiolahti, Finland. The Italian finished the 15km individual race with only one shooting error and a gap in the ski event of 3″2 from the Norwegian Ingrid Tandrevold, who finished second, and 39″7 from the winner Hanna Oeberg.

The Italian athlete commented on her splendid third place in this way, “I am super happy,” she said at the finish line, “I had fun without thinking about anything but just skiing and shooting my best, without fear. I succeeded and that gives me a lot of satisfaction. The change of materials gave me confidence, the choice was right and I think that was an important thing. I felt very calm both on the skis and on the range, the work done in the summer made itself felt, honestly I did not expect this performance, also because in the last month I have been a bit sick and I did not have very good feelings in these weeks, but in the end I did what I am capable of. I dedicate the third place to myself, to start the season this way is gold: it has been two difficult years, but they have taught me many things and to grow a lot from a personal point of view. Without character I would not have come out, the will never failed me.”
