Dominik Paris at Beaver Creek
Two Austrians ahead of everyone in the second and final time trial on the Bird’s of Prey in Beaver Creek. Matthias Mayer set the fastest time of 1’40″44 ahead of teammate Vincent Kriechmayr, 11 hundredths off. Third was Canadian James Crawford, 32 hundredths behind the day’s leader, fourth ex aequo the Norwegian Adrian Sjersted and the host Ryan Cochran-Siegle. Sixth was Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt and seventh was Austria’s Daniel Hemetsberger.
Eighth and first of the Italians was a good Mattia Casse, at 80 hundredths, with Switzerland’s Niels Hintermann and Chile’s Henrik Von Appen closing out the top ten.
Matteo Marsaglia stopped just outside the top ten, in 12th place, with Christof Innerhofer 18th and Dominik Paris 22nd. Florian Schieder finished 34th. Beyond 40th place were Pietro Zazzi, Guglielmo Bosca, Giovanni Franzoni, Matteo Franzoso, Emanuele Buzzi and Nicolò Molteni.
Space now for the first downhill, scheduled for Friday, December 2, starting at 6:15 p.m. Italian time.
