Giovanni Carnevali calls the big names for Davide Frattesi
The words of Giovanni Carnevali
Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali gave an interview to Radio Sportiva where, among the many topics he touched upon, he also talked about the future of Davide Frattesi.
“It’s a new situation that of the World Cup in winter, all to be discovered, let’s hope there are no nasty surprises,” Carnevali began. “Sassuolo has already started training, from Wednesday we will also go for a ten-day mini retreat in Spain, for a period quite similar to what usually happens in the summer, with a few friendly matches, and then return to Italy and after a few days start again with the league. A new preparation, physical and athletic, let’s say, that traces the usual summer retreat. We have only one national team member, Erlic, with Croatia, this is perhaps an advantage. The good thing was the fact that the break allowed us to recover some injuries, we had several unfortunately, and slowly they are coming back.”
“On him we made an important investment, he is young and has gone to replace Scamacca, being the same age (1999). We believe in him a lot: he is already on the major national team roster. We are satisfied and confident that he will be able to do something important knowing that it takes time but that he will be able to express himself at remarkable levels,” he expressed himself thus on Pinamonti.
He then turned to Davide Frattesi and his future: “He is a boy who has made his own path by going to play even in lower categories. He has been with us for a few years, this year he is expressing himself well and has great potential. Is he waiting for a call from Roma? Well I am waiting not only from Roma, but also from other clubs. He is a player we would like to give the chance to go to a big club: in this sense we have never refused anything to anyone, if our requests are met. He knows that he has to grow a little more, do something more, I am convinced that in the second half of the season he will consecrate his characteristics. In the summer period we will see what kind of possibilities there are. There have already been some offers, although not directly from Roma, but from abroad, but I think that in January we will hardly give up our most important young players.”
Finally he gave an update on the condition of captain Domenico Berardi: “Quite well, he is training, we are confident for him but also for the other injured players. He is on his path of full recovery.”
