Likely lineups

It is still wide open in Group E, which will deliver its verdicts on the Italian evening of Thursday, Dec. 1. Luis Enrique’s Spain, coming off a draw against Germany, will face Japan, which, after winning in the opener against the Teutonicos, lost to Costa Rica.

Typical formation for both national teams: the Red Furies will take the field with the classic 4-3-3 seen in the first two matches of the round but there could be a change among the starters, in fact Koke is challenging Gavi for a shirt from the first minute.

No changes among coach Moriyasu’s Asians, who will opt for the 4-2-3-1 with which the Japanese side has picked up one win and one loss.

Likely lineups

JAPAN (4-2-3-1): Gonda; Yamane, Itakura, Yoshida, Nagatomo; Endo, Morita; Doan, Kamada, Soma; Ueda. Ct. Moriyasu.

SPAIN (4-3-3): Unai Simon; Carvajal, Rodri, Laporte, Jordi Alba; Koke, Sergio Busquets, Pedri; Ferran Torres, Morata, Dani Olmo. Ct. Luis Enrique.
