Rafael Nadal makes a promise to Roger Federer fans
Nadal’s promise to Federer’s fans
Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud are playing an exhibition tour in South America. After stops in Buenos Aires and Belo Horizonte in which the Spanish champion had prevailed, Quito was the turn for the Norwegian tennis player. In the penultimate event in Bogota (the last one will be in Mexico City, ed.) the most titled tennis player in the Slams was back on top, overcoming his friend and rival Ruud in two sets (7-5 6-4).
After the match Nadal made a few statements, making Roger Federer fans dream: “I know that a few years ago my colleague Roger Federer could not play his match here because of a problem. He always told me how excited he was to play here, and I hope to come back with him one day.”
Rafael Nadal, nicknamed Rafa, with his victory at the Australian Open 2022 became the first of the Big Three to surpass 20 Slams. The Spanish tennis player is known for his deadly left-handed top-spin and extraordinary mental strength. These qualities have led him to be considered the best tennis player ever on clay where he boasts the beauty of 14 Roland Garros titles.
In addition, the Spanish champion became the youngest tennis player in the Open era to have completed the Career Grand Slam and Career Golden Slam, in 2010.
