The 25-year-old Spaniard will continue to race in IndyCar

Double whammy for Palou. Complete with an official statement, McLaren certified his signing as a reserve driver for the 2023 season: “We are delighted to have Àlex on board as a reserve driver for next season. He impressed us with his FP1 session in Austin and his excellent results at the development tests,” his words reported by Mondodeportivo.

Palou will therefore be McLaren’s reserve driver but will also continue to race in IndyCar as Chip Ganassi’s official driver. In short, after much controversy in the past few months, Palou has managed to please everyone and, above all, himself: a Formula 1 driver and, at the same time, an IndyCar driver.
