The words of Stefano Sardara

Dinamo Sassari president Stefano Sardara gave an interview to Corriere dello Sport a few days after the heavy loss to Olimpia Milano in the last round of the championship.

“Bewildered for the psychological drop that has no tangible motivation. Disappointed for the fans: Sassari is a square that has also met Milan in important competitions for trophies and they were always applauded at the end for giving their souls, both after victories and after defeats. It was also okay to lose by 30 to a EuroLeague team, but I’m not down with the way it was lost. I’m not worried, because basketball is not an exact science and you have to fight all the time.”

“We have to work, because there are important challenges between the league and the European Cup. The psychological drop may be there but the collapse I cannot accept. No one is in the dock, but everyone made mistakes. We have all lost, from the president to the players,” continued the white-blue president.

“Out of culture we will never lower expectations. A year ago we were even 3 wins and 10 knockouts, then we made the Final Eight of the Italian Cup and the semifinal of the championship. The team is not poor, but it has been mowed down by injuries. Even on Sunday Gentile played with a fever of 39 and plaques in his throat,” Sardara concluded.
