Olimpia, Luwawu-Cabarrot unabashed: ‘Milan the only choice’
The meneghini’s new acquisition without brakes
Olimpia Milano’s newest addition, Timothè Luwawu-Cabarrot, a former NBA player with the jackets of the Brooklyn nets and Atlanta Hawks among others, described his first stint with the meneghini, also explaining the reasons that brought him to the Lombard capital.
“Honestly, Milan was my only choice in Europe. After being cut by Phoenix in early October, I came back home training alone and waiting for an opportunity. I had known Ettore Messina since the end of last season, when we talked and he had laid out his project, Armani’s goals, and how he would see me in the group that would be formed. We were in contact during the summer and the European Championship and, for me, Olimpia, because of the care it has of people, players and every aspect that matters, from how we train to how we travel, was the offer in which I felt best and the only real alternative after the NBA,” the player said in the interview with ‘Repubblica’.
“At Armani there are veterans who were already part of my life. Kyle Hines lives 30′ from Philadelphia where I was chosen by the NBA. Kyle and his brother I met then, and I kept in touch, getting advice and guidance. Playing with him now really represents a lot to me. With Melli, on the other hand, we met in the run-up to the European Championship. I had him take a technical, and he had gone off the deep end. Now we laugh about it together,” the former NBA player continued.
