Ferrari, Charles Leclerc exposes himself on Mattia Binotto’s successor
Leclerc on successor to former team principal
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc spoke to journalists present at the FIA Gala organized in Bologna: of course, the Monegasque was also asked for his opinion on the resignation of the now former team principal Mattia Binotto and the name of possible replacements ahead of next season.
“I respect Binotto’s decision. in addition to being the team principal he has been at Ferrari many years, contributing to its successes. I wish him the best for the future. There is still him in the factory at the moment, helping us to prepare for 2023 in the best possible way,” explained the Maranello-based team principal.
“Do I have a list of names for the role? No, and it’s not up to me to make the decision. I have never found myself changing the team principal. Maybe it will take some time for whoever comes to get used to it, but I don’t think the performance on the track will be affected,” Leclerc continued.
Finally, a brief assessment of one of the candidates to succeed Binotto, Frederic Vasseur: “Ferrari is a different team from the others. I have worked with Vasseur before, we have a good relationship, but I don’t think that should influence any decision. He is a straightforward person and that is something I appreciate.”
