Andrea Dovizioso, fall and injury doing motocross: his condition
Fall and injury during a training session.
Andrea Dovizioso is fresh from his farewell to MotoGP and is devoting more time to his passion for motocross. On Friday, however, he experienced a nasty mishap, which ‘Il Resto del Carlino’ reported on Saturday: a fall during a training session in the Marche region of Italy.
Dovizioso was at the ‘Catini’ cross-cross track in Ponzano di Fermo when, according to the Emilian newspaper, “due to accidental causes he fell from his bike, impacting violently on the ground.” Immediately rescued, he never lost consciousness but immediately complained of pain in the wrist of his right hand.
Transferred to the emergency room of Fermo’s Murri Hospital for investigation, here came news of Dovizioso’s condition. ‘Il Resto del Carlino’ speaks of a possible wrist fracture, an injury that will be further evaluated in the coming days. It cannot be ruled out that the former Ducati and Yamaha centaur will also have to undergo an operation.
Dovizioso has been attending the ‘Catini’ cross track in Ponzano di Fermo for regular training sessions since before he left MotoGP. The source speaks of his deep appreciation for the Marche circuit, and of the Forlì rider’s intentions to run a motocross track of his own.
