Brindisi wins, Frank Vitucci doesn’t forget the affection received
Trieste Basketball – Happy Casa Brindisi 66-83 (20-16, 34-39, 51-58, 66-83)
First external success of the season in League A and second consecutive victory in the league for the first time since the beginning of the season. The positive news is all for Happy Casa Brindisi winning in the Sunday postponement of LBA Day 10 at the Allianz Dome in Trieste with a score of 66-83. Good performance by Coach Vitucci’s boys determined and focused over the forty minutes, with control of the painted area and rhythm especially in an excellent second half. MVP Perkins, author of an all-around 22-point performance with 8/11 from two, 8/8 at the free, 5 rebounds, an assist, and a rebound. Excellent defensive work by the Apulians: allowed Trieste only 30 percent from two and 31 percent from three.
Below are the words released by Brindisi’s coach Frank Vitucci, who in commenting on the victory returned to the serious bereavement that struck him in recent days: the passing of his mother.
“To dedicate a victory to the mother is too little, but today I start here. I personally thank my staff who have supported me these days and continued the preparation for the game to the best of their ability, and the club for the closeness shown. Signs of improvement not only tactical but mental that bode well, a team victory with contribution from everyone. Excellent defensive attitude, we suffered a bit in rebounding because of their pace, but we made the game gradually veer to our side. Let’s continue like this with this spirit and focus,” he said.
