Morocco, Regragui provokes, “We are no longer the dancing Africans.”
Morocco’s coach believes: “We have an opportunity and we don’t want to waste it. We want to win against France.”
Morocco’s technical commissioner Walid Regragui spoke at a press conference ahead of the historic World Cup semifinal against France: “If what we have managed to convey, which is our culture, our way of being with our mothers, wives, etc., is positive, that’s good. But above all, we want to represent our soccer. We are on a mission, we are not tired. Tomorrow we will run, there will be no fatigue. We have an opportunity, we don’t want to waste it. I don’t want to wait 40 years. There are times when you have to mark your territory, now is the time.”
On the match, Regragui put it this way, “We will have to figure out how to prevent them from shooting on goal. I think European journalists don’t like the fact that we play a little bit like European teams. They want to say: they were cute these Africans dancing…. Now it’s over, we want to win. Maybe on Wednesday I will look like an idiot after these statements and people will tell me I talked too much, but we believe it.”
